ELLIPTICAL GALAXIES
Elliptical Galaxies form from galaxies colliding and merging into the much less-organized form of galaxy, the Elliptical Galaxy. An Elliptical Galaxy does not have a spiral disk or spiral arms, but is not completely shapeless. They have less cosmic gas and dust, and the stars in an Elliptical Galaxy do not have an orbit around the center of the galaxy. Each star in an Elliptical Galaxy has its own random orbit, and does not have a set pattern. Elliptical Galaxies look like round balls of light, which sets them apart from other types of galaxies, which look more solid. The graphic supplied below shows an example of an Elliptical Galaxy.
